    Memac Ogilvy continues to raise the bar on creativity

    Memac Ogilvy picked up a total of 17 awards at the 7th Dubai Lynx Awards Ceremony. ‘Sawa Mninjah’ (together we succeed) campaign bagged five including 2 Gold trophies in the Direct, Promotions and Activation categories, while “Le Charcutier” campaign was awarded with one Gold trophy in the print category. The final count was split in 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 9 Bronze trophies for Dubai office.

    In an interview with Edmond Moutran, Chairman and CEO of Memac Ogilvy & Mother , he said that international financial crises has greatly affected advertising sector , yet at the peak of the crises , and retrieve of business , he decided to expand and increase his investments on media , marketing and public relations sector. Moutran predicted that his business will grow by 9% , which is a good percentage in comparison with the international conditions .     Edmond Moutran – Memac Ogilvy

    One of the pioneers of the advertising industry in the Middle East, Edmond Moutran commonly referred to as ‘Eddie’ kicked off his career in Bahrain in early 1973 by joining Beirut-based advertising agency Intermarkets. Eleven years later he set up his own agency which eventually became part of the British-based multinational ad agency WPP group. Executive sat with Eddie, chairman and chief executive of Memac Ogilvy, in his Beirut office to understand why he refuses to be part of the MENA Cristal Festival, as well as to discuss his thoughts on the current state of advertising and why he believes Lebanese are dominant industry players in the region.
